Return to Ebbsfleet
Still a microcosm of the island’s story, the Ebbsfleet area declined as the twentieth century marched away from manufacturing and air travel took off. Now what was needed to restore Ebbsfleet’s gateway status and bring life back to the valley was a transport hub for the new millennium. To redirect the Channel Tunnel Rail Link– the £6 billion feat of engineering now known as High Speed One – from coast to London via Ebbsfleet. Here they built a railway station of the future: Ebbsfleet International.
